The most important thing to keep in mind when towing two wheel drive vehicles is to avoid having the drive wheels touch the ground during hauling. This can cause a massive strain on the car’s transmission and can end up permanently damaging it. There are several options and accessories that can be used to effectively tow a two wheel drive. A common method is the use of tow dollies, which lift the front wheels off the ground. It might be necessary to disconnect the drive shaft to avoid damaging the transmission. On the other hand, short-distance towing can make use of triangular tow bars. The end of one triangle is attached to the tow truck via a coupler and ball hitch, while the other end is attached to the bumper of the towed vehicle. Take note that all four vehicles are on the ground, so it’s important not to use this method for long-distance hauling.
